More info

In 1735 The Flying Deer, a Dutch East India company ship sunk on her outbound voyage near Flushing Zeeland. On board were Gold and Silver coins with a value of 133.000 Guilders ( Now over 1.3 million Euro's), nothing was recovered untill 1980. Over a period of 10 years almost the hole content of all VOC money-boxes ( over 5.000 Gold Ducats and 10.000 Spanish American Silver cobs) were recovered.

In 1735 The Flying Deer, a Dutch East India company ship sunk on her outbound voyage near Flushing Zeeland. On board were Gold and Silver coins with a value of 133.000 Guilers ( Now over 1.3 million Euro's), nothing was recovered untill 1980. Over a period of 10 years almost the hole content of all VOC money-boxes ( over 5.000 Gold Ducats and 10.000 Spanish Amerikan Silver cobs) were recovered.

The divers also found 9.000 Ducatons, smuggled by VOC servants.   Among the Ducatons was almost the hole mintage of the Overijssel Mint of Silver Riders with the years 1733 and 1734. If you own an Overijssel Silver Rider of one of these years it's probably from this wreck.
