Die Münzen der Komnenen von Trapezunt is basically the only specializes work to cover the Trebizond Empire, although there are simple listings on 6 pages of coinage of Trebizond Empire in the Byzantine Coins and their Values by D. Sear. Originally written in Moscow in 1910, this is second edition from 1975. German text, history and coinage of Trebizond Emperors from Alexius I (1204-1224) to David(1458-1461). 190 pages of text with some in text line drawings plus 15 excellent plates with silver and copper coins.
