George Berry, a well-known authority on the seventeenth century English token series, investigates all those inns, taverns, places of refreshment and entertainment mentioned by Pepys in his Diary, and which also issued tokens. The introductory text sets the scene of the man, his moods and the times and then examines in detail under each relevant hostelry the known tokens, Pepys own comments about his visits, drinks and meals, and what other interesting background knowledge we have of the token issuer and the history of the establishment. The whole forms a fascinating side-light on seventeenth century London which will be of interest to so many people, not only those who delight in the character of Pepys but also such as the historian and the numismatist.

Shipping is based on a 2 kg registered letter/parcel by PostNL, up to 2 kg no extra shipping costs if the books fit in the same letter/parcel.
Europe only: If its cheaper, we ship with DPD parcels (A 10 kg parcel often costs a few Euros more as a 2 kg parcel by PostNL, the standard shipping company) you will get a refund if you paid to much postage!
