Nabij Huigsloot werd bij het ploegen in 1920 de grootste tot nu toe in Nederland aangetroffen partij munten aan het licht gebracht:
12.389 exemplaren, in hoofdzaak (10.969 stuks) afkomstig uit de periode 364-ca. 400 na Chr.
De munten uit de muntvondst Haarlemmermeer zijn waarschijnlijk afkomstig van een schip dat op weg was naar Engeland. De vondst is van groot belang omdat deze veel barbaarse imitaties van Romeinse munten bevat.
Deze munten zijn veelal van zeer slechte kwaliteit, slecht geslagen, klein en licht van gewicht.
Ze geven echter een goed beeld van de muntcirculatie omstreeks 400 A.D.
Near Huigsloot, when plowing in 1920, the largest batch of Roman coins found so far in the Netherlands was brought to light:
12,389 copies, mainly (10,969 pieces) from the period 364-ca. 400 A.D.
The coins from the Haarlemmermeer coin hoard probably originate from a ship on its way to England. The find is of great importance because it contains many barbaric imitations of Roman coins.
These coins are often of very poor quality, poorly beaten, small and light in weight.
However, they give a good picture of the circulation of coins around 400 A.D.

Shipping is based on a 2 kg registered letter/parcel by PostNL, up to 2 kg no extra shipping costs if the books fit in the same letter/parcel.
Europe only: If its cheaper, we ship with DPD parcels (A 10 kg parcel often costs a few Euros more as a 2 kg parcel by PostNL, the standard shipping company) you will get a refund if you paid to much postage!

Combined shipping rules:
You have to combine all your purchases in one order, otherwise the system will see the purchases as seperate orders and start again with the basic rate for a 2 kg registered letter/parcel.
